  13. What I do (will do with 6.1) is to make the PK defaults be what xdvi
  14. uses, and override them in the config.<printer> for dvips.  This means
  15. that the default fonts generated by dvips with no printer specified
  16. will work with xdvi (I use CanonCX fonts for xdvi in fact though
  17. perhaps write-white ones might be better (We have more CanonCX
  18. printers than anything else)), and doesn't stop dvips working for
  19. other printers.

  21. As KB says this will be fixed when there are xdvi etc. config scripts.

  23. As far as I know there is no reason for tex and friends to worry about
  24. the particular modes used...
